The Role
As Marketing & Promotions Manager, you'll be the force behind brand campaigns, reader relations communications, audience engagement, and client-facing promotions. From strategic planning to on-the-ground execution, you’ll shape how our brands show up in the market—and how we grow loyal audiences while supporting our advertising partners.
You’ll collaborate closely with editorial, sales, events, and design teams to bring smart marketing ideas to life across print, digital, social, and in-person activations. Key initiatives under your wing will include Scene Membership, Scene Shop, Best Of promotions, community media sponsorships, and more.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing
Lead and execute campaigns to elevate Nashville Scene and Williamson Scene, driving both reader and advertiser engagement.
Create and manage strategic marketing plans and related communications across reader revenue initiatives like Scene Membership, Scene Shop, and NashvilleScene.com/calendar.
Drive audience participation in high-profile campaigns like Best of Nashville and Williamson’s Best and oversee voter platforms, vote tallies, and integrity management.
Manage media sponsorships and partnerships to ensure full value and strong brand placement.
Oversee in-house promotions for special issues, newsletters, and branded product pushes.
Partner with internal teams to align messaging and create standout, multi-channel campaigns.
Identify new promotion opportunities that increase brand awareness and reach new audiences for us and our client partners.
Promotions
Lead execution of paid client promotions—including contests, short-form video content, reels, social posts, and giveaways.
Track performance and fulfillment of all promotions, ensuring smooth execution and reporting client value.
Pitch and test new revenue-driving promotional opportunities that engage our audience and support client goals.
Manage logistics and creative for sold ad partnerships, ensuring alignment with client expectations and brand tone.
Audience Engagement & Revenue Growth
Manage and grow Scene social sub channels (e.g., @williamsonscene, @nashvillecityguide) including organic and paid strategies.
Drive traffic and engagement to nashvillescene.com/calendar, optimizing for audience experience and ad revenue.
Develop lead-gen and sales support strategies for the ad team, including targeted digital campaigns and marketing assets.
Lead growth of Scene Membership through communications, events, and partnerships with local businesses for perks and engagement.
Build promotional strategies to boost Scene Shop visibility and online purchases.
Media Partnerships & Activations
Manage Scene’s role as media sponsor at charitable and community events, from branding to booth logistics to staffing.
Hire and oversee promotional team members to ensure excellent brand representation at all activations and pop-ups.

The approximate salary range for this role will begin at $48,000–$52,000, with additional bonus and commission opportunity. This range is provided as a general estimate and may vary based on qualifications. We also offer full benefits package, paid vacation and holidays.
