What You’ll Be Doing
👉 Running and optimizing our websites
You’ll oversee the website content and optimization for all four publications, making sure they’re fast, user-friendly, SEO-friendly, and designed to drive growth.
You’ll dig into the data (Google Analytics, etc.) to figure out what’s working, what’s not, and how we can get more eyes on our stories.
You’ll work closely with our editorial and creative teams to align on content strategies and audience goals.
👉 Owning and evolving our email newsletters
We already have several well-loved email newsletters, but we know we can do more. You’ll lead the charge on growing and improving our email strategy — with a strong focus on driving revenue (think sponsorships, lead-gen products, and new marketing opportunities).
You’ll manage and grow existing editorial newsletters, optimize for engagement, and develop new email-based products to expand our audience and revenue streams.
You’ll work with sales to help package and sell sponsorship opportunities.
👉 Leading digital strategy across the board
You’ll set goals, track performance, and help us continuously improve all things digital.
You’ll keep us up to date on trends and new opportunities. (AI tools? Paid newsletters? New monetization models? You tell us.)
You’ll manage vendor relationships — email platforms, web developers, ad tech partners — and make sure we’re getting the most out of our tools.
What We’re Looking For
You’ve got three-plus years of experience working in digital media, digital marketing, audience development or similar roles — preferably with editorial-driven brands.
You understand how to drive website growth through SEO, UX and smart journalism content strategies.
You’ve built and optimized email marketing programs and know how to turn them into revenue opportunities.
You’re data-driven but also creative — you know how to use insights to drive real-world results.
You’re collaborative and love working with editorial and sales teams.
You’re passionate about local media and community-focused storytelling.
